SOURCES AND RESOURCES JDC-ESHEL is funded by the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, the Government of Israel, the National Insurance Institute, the Claims Conference, local authorities, foundations, and other donors. OPERATING PRINCIPLES JDC-ESHEL operates according to the spirit and tradition of the basic principles of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee and its branch in Israel. Planning is carried out in coordination with the government of Israel, and with the involvement of local authorities, Myers- JDC-Brookdale Institute, and other social organizations. Our mode of operation is oriented toward fostering professionalism and excellence, ensuring the concentration of efforts and the pooling of resources, and creating system-wide impact on the promotion of issues concerning the aged in Israel. ACTIVITIES Developing and disseminating a variety of programs and services on both local and national levels that address the needs of the elderly in Israel. Areas of focus include community services, institutional services, training, housing, employment and career guidance, health promotion, planning, research, development of knowledge and technology, and media and publication. www.eshelnet.org.il
